3D CAD
Create Simple 3D CAD From the References You Already Have
Turn your technical drawings, sketches, PDFs, images, dimensions, or existing CAD files into clear 3D CAD models.
SYNCCAD helps prepare simple 3D CAD models for parts, brackets, mounting components, product enclosures, covers, housings, and other clearly defined designs.
You don't need to start with a finished 3D CAD file. Provide the references you already have, and we'll review the scope before production.

What You Can Send Us
You can start with the references you already have.
Technical Drawing
A dimensioned drawing can provide the geometry, dimensions, views, and notes needed for the 3D CAD task.
Sketch
A hand-drawn or digital sketch can work when the important geometry and dimensions are clearly identified.
A PDF drawing can be used as a reference for eligible 3D CAD preparation.
Image
A clear image or photograph can help communicate the shape, but additional dimensions may be required.
Existing CAD
Provide an existing CAD file when available for modification or further 3D CAD preparation.
What Information Should You Include?
- Overall dimensions
Feature dimensions
Hole diameter
Hole locations
Slot dimensions
Thickness
Radii
Angles
Multiple views where available
Units
Required output format
Revision instructions
Any important geometry requirements
Example:
Create a 3D CAD model from the attached drawing.
Overall size: 120 × 80 × 10 mm.
Four mounting holes: Ø8 mm.
Hole locations are shown on the drawing.
Units: mm.
Required output: STEP.
This gives us a much clearer basis for reviewing the request.
3D CAD for Different Workflows
Prototyping
3D CAD models can be useful for prototype parts, brackets, mounting components, enclosures, covers, and other simple mechanical designs.
Discover moreCNC Machining
3D CAD can provide geometry references for simple machining projects.
Useful information may include:
Overall dimensions
Feature dimensions
Hole locations
Profiles
Depth information
Tolerances where relevant
Material
Manufacturing method
SYNCCAD prepares CAD based on the confirmed scope; final machining requirements should be confirmed with the chosen manufacturer.
Discover more3D Printing
3D CAD models can be used as the basis for some 3D-printing workflows.
Important information may include:
Overall dimensions
Wall thickness
Holes and openings
Feature dimensions
Required output format
Intended printing process where known
Final suitability for 3D printing should be confirmed based on the selected printer, process, material, and manufacturing requirements.
From Reference to 3D CAD
01 — Submit Your References
Upload your drawing, sketch, PDF, image, or existing CAD file.
02 — We Review the Scope
We check the geometry, dimensions, views, units, references, requested changes, and required output.
03 — Confirm Scope & Price
Eligible Simple CAD Jobs are $48.
If the request is outside the simple-job scope, additional review or a custom quote may be required.
04 — Pay & Complete Your References
Payment is required before production.
The 48-hour period starts after payment is received and all required references and information are complete.
05 — We Prepare Your CAD
We create or modify the agreed 3D CAD model based on the confirmed scope.
06 — Delivery
The agreed CAD output is delivered within the confirmed timeframe.
For eligible Simple CAD Jobs, delivery is targeted within 48 hours after payment and all required references and information are complete.
What Makes a Good 3D CAD Request?
A good request clearly answers five questions:
What?
What 3D geometry needs to be created or modified?
From What?
Which drawing, sketch, image, PDF, or existing CAD file should be used?
How Large?
What are the important dimensions, feature sizes, and units?
What Changes?
If modifying existing CAD, exactly what needs to change?
What Output?
Which CAD format do you need?
The clearer these points are, the easier it is to review the scope and prepare the CAD file.
Common Problems to Avoid
01.
Missing Dimensions
An image or sketch may show the general shape but not the exact size. Provide known dimensions wherever possible.
03.
Hidden Geometry
Important features may not be visible from a single view. Provide additional views or sections when needed.
02.
Inconsistent Views
Different drawing views should describe the same geometry. Identify the correct reference if views or dimensions conflict.
04.
Unknown Units
Clearly identify whether dimensions are in mm, inches, or another unit.
05.
Unclear Design Intent
If a feature is shown but its intended shape or function is unclear, provide additional information or a marked-up reference.
06.
Unclear Revisions
Instead of:
Please change the holes.
Use:
Change the four holes from Ø6 mm to Ø8 mm. Keep their center locations unchanged.
Supported Reference Types
Depending on the task, your reference may include:
Technical Drawing ➞ Dimensions and 3D geometry refrences
- Sketch ➞ Basic shape and design intent
- PDF ➞ Drawing and reference information
- Image ➞ Visual geometry reference
- Existing CAD ➞ Modification or further CAD preparation
- Marked-Up Drawing ➞ Clearly identified revisions
The actual suitability of each reference is determined during scope review.

Frequently asked questions
Here are some common questions about our company.
Yes. A suitable dimensioned drawing can be used when the geometry, dimensions, views, and other required information are sufficiently defined.
Can a DWG file be converted to DXF?
This may be possible depending on the source file, required output, and supported workflow. Some drawing information or application-specific features may not transfer exactly.
Yes. A clear sketch can be used when the important geometry, dimensions, and units are identified.
Yes. A clear photograph can be used as a visual reference, but additional dimensions or references may be required.
Yes, when the requested changes are clearly defined and within the agreed scope.
The required output format can be reviewed during scope confirmation. STEP or STL may be suitable depending on the intended workflow and the agreed CAD requirements.
