How SYNCCAD Works

Getting a simple CAD file prepared should be straightforward. SYNCCAD helps customers prepare, convert, or modify eligible CAD files from drawings, sketches, images, dimensions, and existing CAD files. Our process is designed to make the scope clear before production begins.

Start a CAD Job

How It Works

Follow these 6 simple steps to get your CAD projects completed quickly and efficiently.

1. Submit Your CAD Request

Start by telling us what you need.

Provide the information and references needed to understand your CAD task, such as:

  • Existing CAD files
  • Technical drawings
  • Sketches
  • Images or photographs
  • Dimensions
  • Revision instructions
  • Required output format

The clearer your references and instructions are, the easier it is to review your request.

2. We Review the Scope

After receiving your request, SYNCCAD reviews the available information.

We look at:

  • What needs to be created, converted, or modified
  • The available reference files
  • Dimensions and units
  • Requested output
  • Complexity of the geometry
  • Whether the request fits the Simple CAD Job scope

If important information is missing, we may need clarification before the job can be confirmed.

3. Confirm the Price and Scope

Eligible Simple CAD Jobs are priced at:

$48

The $48 price applies only to clearly defined jobs that meet the Simple CAD Job scope.

If a request is outside that scope, SYNCCAD may review it separately and provide a custom quote where applicable.

The confirmed scope should clearly define what will be prepared and delivered.

4. Pay and Complete the References

Once the scope and price are confirmed, payment is required before production begins.

The production clock starts only when:

Payment has been received + all required references and information are complete.

This helps prevent the delivery period from starting while important information is still missing.

5. We Prepare the CAD File

SYNCCAD then prepares the agreed CAD output based on the confirmed scope and customer-provided references.

Depending on the request, this may involve:

  • Creating a 2D CAD drawing
  • Creating a simple 3D CAD model
  • Converting a CAD file
  • Preparing CAD from a drawing or sketch
  • Modifying an existing CAD file
  • Preparing simple mechanical CAD geometry

The work follows the confirmed requirements rather than assumptions about the customer's design intent.

6. Delivery Within 48 Hours

For an eligible Simple CAD Job, the target delivery time is:

48 Hours

The 48-hour period starts after payment has been received and all required references and information are complete.

The final deliverable follows the agreed scope and output format.

What You Should Prepare

Before submitting your request, try to provide:

Provide the file, drawing, sketch, image, or other reference that shows what needs to be prepared.

Include important dimensions and identify the units.

Clearly explain what you want created, converted, or changed.

Tell us the required output format when you know it.

If you are modifying an existing CAD file, clearly identify the changes.

Example

A clear request might look like this:

Source: Mounting_Plate_Rev_B.step

Task: Modify four mounting holes.

Change: Increase hole diameter from Ø6 mm to Ø8 mm.

Location: Keep the existing hole center locations.

Reference: Attached marked-up drawing.

Output: STEP file.

This gives SYNCCAD a clear source, specific modification, dimensions, reference, and output requirement.

Sometimes a CAD request does not contain enough information to begin production.

For example:

  • A drawing has no critical dimensions
  • An image has no known measurement
  • A revision instruction does not identify the affected feature
  • Multiple references contain conflicting information
  • The required output format is unclear

In these situations, SYNCCAD may request additional information or clarification.

This helps prevent the CAD file from being prepared based on assumptions.

What If Information Is Missing?

What If the Request Is Too Complex?

Not every CAD request qualifies as a Simple CAD Job.

A request may require additional review if it involves:

  • Complex geometry
  • Extensive modifications
  • Large or complex assemblies
  • Significant redesign
  • Unclear design requirements
  • Extensive engineering requirements
  • Work outside the defined Simple CAD Job scope

If the request does not qualify for the $48 service, SYNCCAD may review the requirements separately and provide a custom quote where applicable.

SYNCCAD provides CAD file preparation based on the confirmed scope and customer-provided references.

The service does not constitute independent engineering validation.

SYNCCAD does not guarantee:

  • Structural performance
  • Safety
  • Material suitability
  • Final tolerances
  • Manufacturability
  • CNC machining results
  • Laser cutting results
  • 3D printing results
  • Assembly performance
  • Final product performance

Customers remain responsible for reviewing delivered CAD files and confirming final manufacturing requirements with their chosen manufacturer or qualified specialist.
