01 — Project Overview
Prepare CAD Files for Turned Components
CNC turning is commonly used to produce parts with rotational features, such as shafts, pins, spacers, and cylindrical components.
SYNCCAD helps prepare simple CAD geometry for clearly defined turned-part requirements using customer-provided references and agreed instructions.

The required geometry, dimensions, and output format depend on the specific part and the information supplied.
02 — Use Cases
Shafts and Pins
Prepare basic shaft or pin geometry from a drawing or a set of specified dimensions.
DiscoverSpacers and Bushings
Create simple cylindrical components with defined outer dimensions, inner holes, and lengths.
DiscoverCylindrical Components
Prepare straightforward turned-part models with clearly specified diameters, steps, shoulders, or grooves.
DiscoverExisting Part Modifications
Update defined dimensions or features in an existing supported CAD file when the requested changes are clearly identified.
DiscoverComplex components, intricate geometry, and work requiring engineering analysis may need a custom quote.
03 — What We Prepare
Basic Turned-Part Geometry
Prepare simple cylindrical or rotational geometry based on supplied drawings, sketches, and dimensions.
DiscoverDefined Diameters and Lengths
Model specified diameters, lengths, shoulders, and other clearly defined features within the approved scope.
DiscoverBasic Holes and Grooves
Include specified holes, grooves, or similar features when the requirements are sufficiently clear and the task is agreed in advance.
DiscoverAgreed Output Format
Deliver the agreed CAD file or drawing in a supported format confirmed during scope review.
DiscoverCNC toolpaths, machine programs, cutting parameters, and production setup are not included unless explicitly agreed and confirmed as supported.
04 — Required References
What to Send
Please provide as many of the following as available:
A technical drawing, sketch, image, or existing CAD file
Overall length and required diameters
Dimensions for shoulders, grooves, holes, and other specified features
Additional views or sectional details where necessary
Critical dimensions and tolerances, if applicable
Your preferred output format, if known
Any relevant requirements supplied by your chosen manufacturer
Identify Critical Dimensions
Clearly mark the dimensions and features that must be preserved. If tolerances or surface requirements are important, provide the specified values rather than relying on assumptions.
If dimensions are missing or unclear, we may request clarification before confirming the scope.
SYNCCAD does not independently determine engineering requirements or guarantee that the resulting file meets a particular manufacturing process.
05 — How It Works
What's new ? Explore
Step 1 — Submit Your References
Send your drawing, sketch, dimensions, or existing CAD file together with a short description of the turned component you need.
Step 2 — Scope Review
We review the references, required geometry, output format, and project complexity to determine whether the task qualifies for the $48 Simple CAD Job service.
Step 3 — Approve and Pay
Once the scope and deliverables are agreed, pay $48 upfront for an eligible Simple CAD Job. More complex requests may require a custom quote.
Step 4 — CAD Preparation
Production begins after payment has been received and all required references and information are complete.
Step 5 — Final File Delivery
Your agreed final CAD files are delivered within 48 hours after payment has been received and all required references and information are complete.
06 — Deliverables & Scope
Depending on the approved scope, deliverables may include:
A simple CAD model of the turned component
An agreed drawing or dimensional representation
A modified existing CAD file
Another agreed output in a supported format
The exact deliverables, required dimensions, and output format are confirmed before payment.
Simple CAD Job Pricing
Eligible, clearly defined CNC turning CAD tasks may qualify for the fixed $48 Simple CAD Job price.
Complex parts, detailed assemblies, extensive reconstruction, CNC programming, or work requiring specialist engineering input may need a custom quote.
Important Limitations
SYNCCAD prepares digital CAD files based on customer-provided references and agreed instructions. We do not machine physical parts or independently certify engineering performance.
Your chosen manufacturer or qualified specialist should confirm material selection, tolerances, surface finish, machining strategy, tooling, and manufacturing suitability.
Any revision allowance must be agreed before payment. Changes beyond the approved scope may require a separate quote.
07 — FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, if the drawing and supporting references provide enough information for a clearly defined task. Additional dimensions or views may be required.
These may be suitable for the Simple CAD Job service when their geometry and dimensions are clearly specified.
CNC programming and machine-specific production setup are not included in standard CAD file preparation. Submit your requirements for scope review if you need these services.
No. SYNCCAD prepares CAD files from supplied references but does not guarantee manufacturability. Your chosen manufacturer should review the file and confirm process-specific requirements.
No. The fixed $48 price applies only to eligible Simple CAD Jobs. More complex work may require a custom quote.
The 48-hour period begins after payment has been received and all required references and information are complete.
Available formats depend on the task and the formats SYNCCAD supports. We confirm the output format during scope review before payment.
