- Simple 3D CAD models
- Drawing or sketch to CAD
- Image-based CAD preparation
- CAD file conversion
- CAD file modification
- Simple mechanical parts
- Simple brackets and mounting plates

- Other clearly defined CAD preparation tasks
Every request is reviewed before production.
Simple CAD Jobs
What is a Simple CAD Job?
A Simple CAD Job is a clearly defined CAD task with manageable geometry, sufficient references, and a straightforward deliverable.
Examples may include:
- Creating a simple 2D profile
- Creating a simple 3D part
- Converting an eligible CAD file
- Making clearly defined modifications
- Preparing a simple bracket or mounting plate
- Creating CAD from a dimensioned sketch
The final eligibility depends on the actual files, references, geometry, and requested work.
How much does a Simple CAD Job cost?
Eligible Simple CAD Jobs cost $48.
The $48 price applies only to requests that meet the Simple CAD Job scope.
Requests outside that scope may require additional review and a custom quote.
When does the 48-hour delivery period start?
The 48-hour delivery period starts after:
- The $48 payment has been received, and
- All required references and information are complete.
The clock does not start simply because a request has been submitted.
Does every CAD request qualify for $48?
No.
The $48 price is specifically for eligible Simple CAD Jobs.
If a request is more complex, has incomplete references, or requires work outside the defined scope, SYNCCAD may need to review it separately and provide a different quote.
Submitting Your Request
What should I include in my CAD request?
Provide as much relevant information as possible, including:
- Description of the task
- Source/reference files
- Dimensions
- Units
- Required changes
- Revision information
- Required output format
- Additional instructions
A clear request helps reduce clarification before production.
Can I submit a sketch?
Yes.
A sketch can be used as a reference for an eligible CAD task.
For the best result, include:
- Dimensions
- Units
- Important angles
- Hole sizes
- Feature locations
- Thickness
- Additional views when necessary
Can I submit a PDF drawing?
Yes.
A PDF can provide useful information such as:
- Dimensions
- Views
- Annotations
- Profiles
- Notes
- Revision information
The quality and type of PDF matter. A vector PDF and a scanned image may require different preparation approaches.
Can I submit an existing CAD file?
Yes.
Existing CAD files can be used as the source for eligible modification or conversion requests.
When submitting an existing file, clearly explain what needs to change and what should remain unchanged.
CAD File Formats
Which CAD formats can I request?
Depending on the confirmed scope, CAD work may involve formats such as:
- STEP
- STL
- DXF
- DWG
- PDF as a reference
The required input and output format should be confirmed as part of the request.
Which format should I choose?
It depends on how you intend to use the file.
For example:
- STEP — commonly used for 3D CAD exchange
- STL — commonly used for mesh-based workflows and 3D printing
- DXF — commonly used for 2D CAD geometry
- DWG — commonly used for CAD drawings
If you are unsure, explain your intended use when submitting the request.
Can SYNCCAD convert one CAD format to another?
Eligible CAD conversion requests can be reviewed.
Examples may include:
- PDF to CAD
- PDF to DWG
- PDF to DXF
- DWG to DXF
- STEP to STL
The actual conversion depends on the source file, required output, geometry, and scope.
CAD Modifications
Can SYNCCAD modify my existing CAD file?
Yes, if the modification is within the confirmed scope.
For example:
Change four holes from Ø6 mm to Ø8 mm while keeping their existing center locations.
Clear revision instructions are important.
Can I request multiple changes?
You can describe multiple changes in one request.
However, the total number and complexity of changes may affect whether the request qualifies as a Simple CAD Job.
Provide a complete revision list so the scope can be reviewed before production.
Can I request another revision after delivery?
If additional changes are requested after the agreed scope has been completed, they may be treated as additional work.
This depends on the nature of the requested revision and the confirmed scope.
Scope & Limitations
Does SYNCCAD provide engineering services?
SYNCCAD's service is focused on CAD file preparation.
It does not represent independent engineering validation or consultancy.
SYNCCAD does not provide guarantees for:
- Structural performance
- Safety
- Material selection
- Engineering calculations
- Final tolerances
- Manufacturability
- Product performance
Does SYNCCAD manufacture physical parts?
No.
SYNCCAD prepares CAD files. Customers choose and work with their own manufacturer or production provider.
Does SYNCCAD guarantee that my file will manufacture correctly?
No.
The delivered CAD file should be reviewed against the customer's intended manufacturing process and requirements.
The customer and chosen manufacturer remain responsible for final manufacturability, materials, tolerances, tooling, production parameters, and acceptance.
Does SYNCCAD guarantee 3D printing results?
No.
SYNCCAD may prepare eligible CAD files for a 3D-printing workflow, but the final printing result depends on factors such as printer, material, orientation, slicing settings, tolerances, and production conditions.
Does SYNCCAD guarantee CNC machining or laser cutting results?
No.
SYNCCAD can prepare eligible CAD geometry for these workflows, but final manufacturing requirements must be confirmed by the customer and chosen manufacturer.
Missing Information & Complex Requests
What happens if my references are incomplete?
SYNCCAD may ask for additional information before production begins.
The 48-hour delivery period starts only after the required references and information are complete and payment has been received.
What if my request is unclear?
The request may need clarification before the scope and price can be confirmed.
Providing clear dimensions, marked-up references, revision instructions, and output requirements helps avoid unnecessary clarification.
What if my CAD project is too complex for a Simple CAD Job?
SYNCCAD may review the request separately.
If it falls outside the Simple CAD Job scope, a custom quote or alternative scope may be required.
Can I submit a large or complicated CAD project?
You can submit the project for review.
However, the $48 Simple CAD Job price should not be assumed for complex projects.
The scope needs to be reviewed first.
Payment & Delivery
Do I pay before the CAD work starts?
Yes.
For an eligible Simple CAD Job, payment is required before production begins.
Can I pay after I receive a preview?
No.
Production starts after payment has been received and all required references and information are complete.
What happens after I submit a request?
The general process is:
Submit Request → Scope Review → Confirm Scope & Price → Payment → CAD Preparation → Delivery
What happens if information is missing after I pay?
If required information or references are still incomplete, production may need to wait until the necessary information is provided.
The 48-hour delivery period starts once payment and the required complete references/information are both in place.
