2D CAD

Create Clear 2D CAD From the References

You Already Have

Turn your drawings, sketches, PDFs, images, dimensions, or existing CAD files into clear 2D CAD geometry.

SYNCCAD helps prepare simple 2D CAD files for parts, profiles, brackets, plates, panels, and other clearly defined designs.

You don't need to start with a finished CAD file. Provide the references you already have, and we'll review the scope before production.

What We Can Help With

  • 2D CAD Drawing
  • 2D Profiles
  • CAD From Technical Drawings
  • CAD From Sketches
  • CAD From Images or PDFs
  • 2D CAD Modification

Typical 2D CAD Projects

2D CAD is commonly useful for simple geometry such as:

Mounting plates

Flat brackets

Panels

Cutting profiles

Simple mechanical profiles

Hole patterns

Slots and openings

Flat components

Prototype parts

Simple tooling components

If your design contains complex geometry or requires engineering decisions, the request may need additional review before it can be accepted.

What You Can Send Us

You can start with the references you already have.

Existing CAD

Provide an existing DXF, DWG, or other relevant CAD file when available.

Flat brackets

A dimensioned drawing can provide the geometry, dimensions, views, and notes needed for the CAD task.

Sketch

A hand-drawn or digital sketch can work when the important geometry and dimensions are clearly identified.

PDF

A PDF drawing can be used as a reference for eligible CAD preparation.

Image

A clear image or photograph can help communicate the shape, but additional dimensions may be required.

2D CAD for Different Workflows

Laser Cutting

2D CAD profiles can be used as references for laser-cutting workflows.

Important information may include:

  • Closed profiles
  • Internal holes
  • Slots
  • Overall dimensions
  • Units
  • Material thickness
  • Required file format

The final cutting requirements should be confirmed with your chosen manufacturer.

CNC Machining

2D CAD can also provide geometry or drawing references for simple machining projects.

Depending on the project, useful information may include:
- Dimensions
- Hole locations
- Profiles
- Depth information
- Tolerances
- Material
- Manufacturing method

SYNCCAD prepares CAD files based on the confirmed scope; it does not guarantee CNC manufacturing results.

From Reference to 2D CAD

Our process is straightforward.

01 — Submit Your References

Upload your drawing, sketch, PDF, image, or existing CAD file.

02 — We Review the Scope

We check the available geometry, dimensions, units, references, requested changes, and required output.

03 — Confirm Scope & Price

Eligible Simple CAD Jobs are $48.

If the request is outside the Simple CAD Job scope, additional review or a custom quote may be required.

04 — Pay & Complete Your References

Payment is required before production.

The 48-hour delivery period begins after payment has been received and all required references and information are complete.

05 — We Prepare Your CAD

We create or modify the agreed 2D CAD geometry.

06 — Delivery

Helpful guidance, quick answers, and proactive monitoring ensure issues are resolved fast, with minimal disruption for your team.

What Makes a Good 2D CAD Request?

A good request clearly answers five questions:

What?

What CAD geometry needs to be created or modified?

From What?

Which drawing, sketch, image, PDF, or CAD file should be used?

How Large?

What are the important dimensions and units?

What Changes?

If modifying existing CAD, exactly what needs to change?

What Output?

Which CAD format do you need?

The clearer these points are, the easier it is to review the scope.

Common Problems to Avoid

01.

Missing Dimensions

A picture can show the shape but not necessarily its exact size.

Provide known dimensions whenever possible.

03.

Unclear Hole Locations

For hole patterns, provide diameter and center locations or spacing.

02.

Unknown Units

Always identify whether dimensions are in mm, inches, or another unit.

04.

Open Profiles

If the CAD will be used as a cutting profile, clearly identify the required closed geometry.

05.

Conflicting References

If several files show different versions, identify which file or revision should be used.

06.

Unclear Revisions

Instead of:

“Please update the holes.”

Use:

“Change the four holes from Ø6 mm to Ø8 mm. Keep their center locations unchanged.”

Supported Reference Types

Depending on the task, your reference may include:

  • Technical Drawing ➞ Dimensions and geometry
  • Sketch ➞ Basic shape and design intent
  • PDF ➞ Drawing/reference information
  • Image ➞ Visual geometry reference
  • Existing CAD ➞ Modification or conversion
  • Marked-Up Drawing ➞ Clearly identified revisions

The actual suitability of a reference is determined during scope review.

Important Scope & Limitations

SYNCCAD provides CAD file preparation, not independent engineering validation. The delivered CAD file is based on the references and instructions provided by the customer.

SYNCCAD does not guarantee:

Structural performance

Safety

Material suitability

Engineering calculations

Final tolerances

Manufacturability

CNC machining results

Laser-cutting results

3D-printing results

Final product performance

Before manufacturing, review the CAD file and confirm the final requirements with your chosen manufacturer or qualified specialist.

Frequently asked questions

Here are some common questions about our company.

Yes, if the sketch provides sufficient information such as dimensions, geometry, and units.

Can a DWG file be converted to DXF?

This may be possible depending on the source file, required output, and supported workflow. Some drawing information or application-specific features may not transfer exactly.

Yes. A PDF can be used as a reference for an eligible 2D CAD request.

Yes, but a photograph may not provide enough dimensional information by itself. Additional dimensions or references may be required.

Yes, when the requested modifications are clearly defined and within the confirmed scope.

It is helpful, but if you are unsure, explain how you plan to use the file and the required format can be reviewed.

No. $48 applies to eligible Simple CAD Jobs. The actual scope is reviewed before production.

After payment has been received and all required references and information are complete.
