01 — Project Overview
Prepare 3D Geometry for Your Printing Workflow
A 3D model provides a digital representation of a part or product concept. Before using it in a 3D printing workflow, the geometry needs to reflect the intended shape and the requirements agreed for the project.
SYNCCAD helps prepare simple 3D CAD models from supplied sketches, drawings, dimensions, images, or existing CAD references.

The result depends on the available information, the requested geometry, and the agreed scope.
02 — Use Cases
Simple Functional Parts
Prepare basic 3D geometry for a clearly defined component or part concept.
DiscoverProduct Prototypes
Create a simple model to communicate the shape of a product concept before further development.
DiscoverEnclosures and Covers
Prepare simple housing or cover geometry based on supplied dimensions and references.
DiscoverReplacement Part Models
Recreate basic geometry from available references when sufficient dimensions and details are provided.
DiscoverComplex assemblies, intricate organic shapes, and projects requiring engineering validation may need a custom quote.
03 — What We Prepare
Defined Features
Prepare clearly specified holes, cutouts, slots, and other basic features when included in the approved scope.
DiscoverExisting Model Modifications
Make clearly defined changes to supported existing CAD models.
DiscoverAgreed Output Format
Prepare the agreed deliverable in a supported format confirmed during scope review. If a mesh format such as STL is required, confirm its availability and suitability for the task before payment.
DiscoverSYNCCAD prepares digital geometry. We do not print physical parts or guarantee that every model is ready for every printer or material.
04 — Required References
What to Send
Please provide as many of the following as available:
A sketch, technical drawing, image, or existing CAD file
Overall dimensions and critical measurements
Details of holes, cutouts, wall thicknesses, and other important features
Additional views where the shape is not clear
Your preferred output format, if known
Any specific requirements provided by your chosen printing supplier
Explain the Intended Use
Let us know what the model is intended to represent and whether particular dimensions or features are important.
If wall thickness, clearances, or other details are essential, provide the relevant requirements. Missing information may need clarification before the scope can be approved.
Printer settings, material selection, support structures, and machine-specific preparation should not be assumed to be included unless explicitly agreed.
05 — How It Works
What's new ? Explore
Step 1 — Submit Your References
Send your sketches, drawings, dimensions, images, or existing CAD files with a brief explanation of the required model.
Step 2 — Scope Review
We review the geometry, available references, requested output, and level of detail to determine whether the task qualifies for the $48 Simple CAD Job service.
Step 3 — Approve and Pay
Once the scope and deliverables are agreed, pay $48 upfront for an eligible Simple CAD Job. More complex requests may require a custom quote.
Step 4 — CAD Preparation
Production begins after payment has been received and all required references and information are complete.
Step 5 — Final File Delivery
Your agreed final CAD files are delivered within 48 hours from the confirmed start point.
06 — Deliverables & Scope
What You Receive
Depending on the approved scope, deliverables may include a simple 3D CAD model or another agreed file in a supported format.
The exact geometry, file format, and required level of detail are confirmed before payment.
Simple CAD Job Pricing
Eligible, clearly defined 3D modeling tasks may qualify for the fixed $48 price.
Complex geometry, detailed assemblies, extensive mesh repair, or tasks requiring specialist engineering input may need a custom quote.
Important Limitations
SYNCCAD prepares CAD files based on customer-provided references. We do not manufacture physical parts, certify engineering performance, or guarantee printability for every printer, material, or production process.
Your chosen printing supplier should confirm wall thickness, tolerances, material requirements, orientation, supports, and other process-specific considerations.
Any revision allowance must be agreed before payment. Changes beyond the approved scope may require a separate quote.
07 — FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, if the sketch and supporting references provide enough information for a clearly defined task. Additional dimensions or views may be required.
An STL deliverable may be possible if it is supported for the task. Confirm the required output format during scope review before payment.
Not necessarily. Printability depends on geometry, wall thickness, mesh integrity, printer capabilities, materials, and other process-specific requirements. Your chosen supplier should verify suitability.
No. The fixed $48 price applies only to eligible Simple CAD Jobs. Complex modeling or other work outside the agreed scope may require a custom quote.
The 48-hour period begins after payment has been received and all required references and information are complete.
No. SYNCCAD prepares digital CAD files. Customers select and work directly with their chosen 3D printing provider.
Some clearly defined modifications may be possible, depending on the file, geometry, and supported workflow. Extensive mesh repair may require a custom quote.
