SYNCCAD operates as an on-demand technical drafting and CAD engineering platform. To guarantee total legal transparency and protect customer trade secrets, we classify all project assets into four distinct categories:
Customer Materials
Original CAD files, blueprints, sketches, point clouds, measurements, specifications, and proprietary product designs submitted by you.
SYNCCAD Deliverables
Customized 3D CAD models, manufacturing 2D drawings, CNC cut files, STEP/IGES conversions, and renders created specifically for your project.
Pre-Existing Materials
Internal CAD automation scripts, title blocks, design rule checks, parametric macro pipelines, and standard engineering templates.
Third-Party Materials
Standard fasteners (ISO/DIN/ANSI), off-the-shelf catalog models, licensed 3D rendering textures, and commercial engineering libraries.
You retain complete ownership of client data
Client-provided materials encompass all inputs transferred to SYNCCAD for quotation, review, and project execution, including:

Limited Operational License: The client retains exclusive title, copyright, and patent ownership. SYNCCAD receives only a limited, revocable license strictly necessary to:
- Evaluate project scope and provide accurate pricing
- Engineer, model, draft, and assemble agreed CAD deliverables
- Perform precision quality assurance (QA) and tolerance verification
- Securely archive project files during the active warranty and revision window
Customer legal authorization and IP warranty
Clients warrant that they possess all legal rights, patents, copyrights, and trade secret permissions required to disclose submitted technical materials to SYNCCAD.
Client Submission Compliance:
- You confirm full legal authorization to upload CAD models, blueprints, and physical prototypes.
- You ensure third-party supplier parts or commercial assemblies comply with their license terms.
- You agree not to upload stolen, infringed, or restricted intellectual property.
Operational Notice: SYNCCAD acts strictly as a CAD engineering service provider and technical drafting partner. We do not independently conduct patent searches or verify chain-of-title for client-supplied assets.
Ownership and intellectual property transfer of deliverables
SYNCCAD Deliverables comprise all customized technical documentation, 3D digital assets, and production-ready files generated under your scope of work.
Scope of Engineering Deliverables
- Parametric 3D solid models (STEP, IGES, SolidWorks, Inventor)
- Production 2D technical drawings & fabrication prints (DWG, DXF, PDF)
- CAD file conversions and vectorization packages
- CAM, CNC machining toolpaths, and sheet metal flat patterns
- Additive manufacturing & 3D printing geometries (STL, OBJ, 3MF)
- Photorealistic 3D product visualizations and promotional renderings
Rights Transfer Framework
Ownership rights and usage licenses are formally conveyed according to the service agreement and order terms.
“Upon complete payment of all applicable service fees, the customer receives full commercial rights to utilize, manufacture, modify, and distribute the agreed final deliverables for their intended commercial purpose.”
Exclusive assignment of copyright or customized work-for-hire provisions can be documented in a custom Master Services Agreement (MSA).
Full payment triggers IP rights transfer
Any commercial license, right-to-use grant, or copyright assignment in favor of the client is strictly conditional upon receipt of full payment for the invoiced services. Until payment obligations are satisfied, SYNCCAD retains legal title to all generated project outputs.
Proprietary CAD automation and production engines
To deliver rapid turnaround times and rigorous drafting accuracy, SYNCCAD relies on internally developed assets, including:
- Proprietary CAD title blocks and drawing border standards
- Parametric part libraries and feature automation routines
- Custom scripts, Python macros, and conversion algorithms
- Internal quality control workflows and engineering guidelines
These foundational assets remain the sole property of SYNCCAD. Clients receive the final custom output, not the underlying software tools or automation infrastructure.
Professional engineering know-how
SYNCCAD engineers retain their general technical acumen, drafting methodologies, and mathematical principles developed through industry practice.
Essential Distinction:
General Industry Know-How: Standard geometric modeling techniques, GD&T standards, machining tolerances, and rendering illumination practices.
Client Confidential IP: Your proprietary physical dimensions, patent-pending assemblies, trade secrets, and brand styling—which are strictly protected and never reused.
Custom IP assignment & work-for-hire agreements
For projects requiring complete copyright transfer, work-for-hire treatment, exclusive manufacturing covenants, or bilateral NDA frameworks, custom agreements can be executed prior to kickoff.
Protection of proprietary CAD data & trade secrets
Client files often encompass sensitive, pre-patent engineering data, proprietary geometries, and unreleased market prototypes.
All confidential data is protected under our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and binding bilateral NDAs.

SYNCCAD only showcases non-confidential CAD renderings, sample models, or authorized case studies to illustrate technical capabilities.
Our Confidentiality Commitment:
- We never publish proprietary client designs without express written consent.
- Clients can mark any order as “CONFIDENTIAL — NOT FOR PORTFOLIO” at checkout or onboarding.
- All patent-pending products and proprietary assemblies remain fully embargoed.
- Zero automatic showcase rights are claimed over private commercial designs.
Standard hardware libraries and licensed textures
CAD models and renderings may incorporate standard hardware components (DIN/ISO fasteners, bearings, pneumatic fittings) or commercial surface materials. These items remain subject to their respective original licensors.
Clients are responsible for ensuring downstream manufacturing compliance with any third-party commercial components selected for their assemblies.
Intellectual property policies across CAD services
PDF, Paper & 2D-to-3D CAD Vectorization
Converting legacy blueprints, raster PDFs, or scanned drawings into parametric CAD models does not transfer design ownership to SYNCCAD.

3D Scan-to-CAD & Physical Sample Modeling
When providing physical components or point cloud mesh data for reverse engineering, clients warrant they have full authorization to reproduce the geometry.
Clients must ensure compliance with trade secret and patent laws governing replacement part modeling.
Photorealistic Rendering & Animation
High-resolution renderings and animations frequently feature customer trademarks, visual branding, and proprietary product trade dress.
The client retains full ownership of their trademark and product identity; SYNCCAD acquires no brand equity or trademark rights.
CNC Machining & 3D Print File Preparation
Generating manufacturing-ready toolpaths, G-code, or sliced additive manufacturing files (STL, 3MF) does not grant SYNCCAD design ownership.
Clients maintain sole ownership and responsibility for fabricating and distributing the physical parts.
Reporting intellectual property concerns
SYNCCAD respects intellectual property rights worldwide. If you believe your copyrighted design or patent has been uploaded without authorization, submit a formal notice detailing:
- 1. Contact information: Full name, company, and contact details.
- 2. Protected work: Clear identification and proof of registration.
- 3. Specific reference: Exact project ID or web reference.
- 4. Good-faith declaration: Statement of unauthorized use.

Who owns the CAD files after the project is completed?
Once the invoice for your project is paid in full, you receive full commercial rights to use, manufacture, modify, and distribute the custom CAD deliverables created for you.
Does SYNCCAD sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)?
Yes. We frequently sign bilateral NDAs before reviewing proprietary CAD files, 3D scans, or patent-pending product blueprints to ensure full confidentiality.
Will my 3D models or drawings appear in your portfolio?
No sensitive or confidential customer work is published without written consent. You can designate any project as "CONFIDENTIAL — NOT FOR PORTFOLIO" during project kickoff.
Do you gain ownership if you convert my 2D blueprint to 3D CAD?
No. CAD conversion is purely a drafting and engineering service. Converting raster PDFs, scans, or DWGs into parametric 3D models does not grant SYNCCAD any ownership over your original design.
