At SYNCCAD, we recognize that customers provide sensitive, proprietary, and commercial information in order to complete CAD drafting, reverse engineering, 3D modeling, and visual rendering projects.
This information may include product designs, CAD files, engineering drawings, 3D models, point clouds, scans, technical dimensions, technical specifications, manufacturing details, unreleased products, component pricing, supplier information, and commercial roadmaps.
SYNCCAD uses this information only as reasonably necessary to review, produce, quality-check, communicate about, and deliver the agreed project deliverables.
What We Consider Confidential
Information may be confidential when the nature of the information or the circumstances of disclosure indicate that it should reasonably be treated as confidential.
Customer Files
Native and exported project files including DWG, DXF, STEP, IGES, STL, SLDPRT, PDF, CAD datasets, and related documentation.
Product Information
Original product concepts, industrial designs, physical dimensions, prototype specifications, tolerances, and design intents.
Engineering Information
Detailed 2D engineering drawings, fabrication instructions, material specifications, assembly schemes, and manufacturing parameters.
Business Information
Cost calculations, supplier lists, volume forecasts, production timelines, and strategic commercial information.
Unreleased Products
Designs, prototypes, or inventions that have not been publicly revealed, announced, patented, or commercially brought to market.
Project Communication
Briefs, feedback notes, scope discussions, design markups, and email or platform exchanges regarding the assignment.
How SYNCCAD Uses Customer Information
Customer information is utilized strictly to deliver the contracted services. Specifically, information may be used to:
- Review technical requirements and project constraints
- Prepare quotations, scope definitions, and service recommendations
- Generate parametric CAD models, 2D drawings, and 3D geometries
- Execute file conversions, cleanups, and reverse engineering
- Produce realistic 3D visualizations, renders, and animations
- Conduct quality control, peer checks, and verification routines
- Communicate directly with the customer and deliver agreed assets
Marketing Restriction: SYNCCAD does not use customer project information for unrelated marketing or public promotions without express customer permission.
Access and the SYNCCAD Production Network
Project information is restricted to personnel and specialists who require access for legitimate business, production, or quality assurance purposes, subject to internal controls and contractual protections.
Production Network Standards:
SYNCCAD collaborates with approved production professionals and vetted engineering specialists. Where confidential project details are shared with production specialists:
- Customer-facing communication and accountability remain managed directly by SYNCCAD.
- Information is shared only to the extent reasonably necessary to execute the assigned task.
- Production professionals are subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations and standards.
6. Third-Party Service Providers
SYNCCAD may rely on trusted cloud infrastructure, secure file transfer systems, communication software, and CAD tools to manage operations. Data processed through these utilities is governed in accordance with our Privacy Policy →.
Client Portfolio & Public Display
While SYNCCAD takes pride in its craftsmanship and showcases selected CAD models or renderings in our public gallery, confidential customer work is not automatically displayed publicly.
Examples of projects requiring strict exclusion from portfolio display include:
- Unreleased commercial items or concept designs
- Patent-sensitive mechanisms or proprietary tooling
- Private engineering drawings with client identification or title blocks
- Confidential supplier, fabrication, or manufacturing details
How to flag: If a project is confidential, clients should clearly specify the requirement during project onboarding or brief submission.
NEED AN NDA?
Clients with commercially critical, patent-pending, or proprietary projects may request a standalone bilateral Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
NDAs are especially recommended for:
Important Legal Notice: Simply browsing or using the website does not automatically constitute a signed NDA. A distinct Non-Disclosure Agreement must be mutually executed where formal contractual protection is required.
Customer Responsibility
A secure collaboration relies on clarity and good faith. Customers are asked to:
- Identify confidential material: Clearly notify us of confidential status or special restrictions prior to or upon uploading files.
- Authority to disclose: Confirm that you have the requisite intellectual property rights or authorization to share files with SYNCCAD.
- Minimize unrelated data: Refrain from sending personal or proprietary records not necessary for completing the CAD work.
- Specific security requirements: Inform our team before production if your organization mandates custom transfer protocols or access requirements.
What Confidentiality Does Not Cover
Standard confidentiality obligations generally do not apply to information that:
- Is or becomes publicly known through no breach by SYNCCAD
- Was already lawfully known to SYNCCAD prior to receipt from the customer
- Is independently developed by SYNCCAD without reference to confidential customer data
- Is received lawfully from an independent third party without confidentiality breach
- Must be disclosed pursuant to applicable law, regulation, subpoena, or valid court order
11. Legal Disclosure
Where disclosure is compelled by legal process, SYNCCAD may seek to limit disclosure strictly to what is required by law. (Subject to final legal counsel review.)
12. Data Security Measures
SYNCCAD takes reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect customer information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
We continuously evaluate our operational practices to maintain reliable administrative and digital controls appropriate to the services rendered.

Project files may be retained for operational, contractual, quality assurance, backup, and dispute resolution purposes for a reasonable period determined by SYNCCAD's internal operating requirements.
Customers desiring immediate archival or deletion following project sign-off should submit a written request at project completion.
14. Post-Project Confidentiality
Confidentiality protections do not evaporate when a project is completed or closed.
Agreed confidentiality terms continue to apply following final delivery and invoice settlement in accordance with the applicable contract or executed NDA.

This initiates internal workflow handling instructions to segregate the file from public gallery consideration. (Note: internal workflow indicators complement, but do not replace, formal signed NDAs where legally mandated).
